This is an early-stage product
goodjob is currently in a trial and testing phase. By using it, you're placing trust in me directly — not a legal entity, not a team. I take that seriously and will do as much as I can to protect and respect your data. That said, use at your own risk.
01 — What I collect
goodjob stores only what it needs to function:
- — Account information (email, name) used for authentication
- — Bike and component data you enter manually
- — Service logs and notes you record
- — Ride mileage and dates (not raw GPS or activity data)
02 — Third-party integrations
When you sync rides via Dropbox FIT files, the file is read only for the information needed to power the app — distance, date, and the like. The file itself is not copied or saved. It stays where it is.
03 — What I don't do
- — I don't sell your data
- — I don't share it with third parties for advertising
- — I don't use your data to build profiles or run analytics beyond what's needed to operate the app
- — I don't retain data I don't need
04 — Data storage & security
Your data is stored in a managed Postgres database. I follow reasonable security practices, but I'm one person running a side project — I can't make guarantees that a mature company with a security team could. Treat this accordingly and don't store anything you'd be devastated to lose.
05 — Your data, your control
If you want to export or delete your data, reach out. I'll make it happen. As the product matures, self-serve options for this will follow.
06 — Changes to this policy
If anything meaningful changes, I'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, I'll notify active users directly.
07 — Contact
This is a small enough operation that if you know how to reach me, you know. If you have questions or requests, just get in touch.
